How to Use Q&A Slides in EngageSlide – Live Audience Questions

Expert Guide: Using Q&A Slides

What is a Q&A Slide?

The Q&A (Question & Answer) slide is the bridge between presenter and audience. It allows participants to ask questions anonymously or with their names, upvote their favorite inquiries, and engage in meaningful dialogue throughout your presentation.

Why use it?

  • Democratize the Room: Give shy participants a voice and ensure the most popular questions rise to the top.
  • Managed Dialogue: Review and moderate questions before they appear on the main screen.
  • Live Interaction: Answer questions as they come in or dedicate a specific slide to a dedicated Q&A session.

Quick Setup Guide

1

Click "+ New Slide" and choose "Q&A" from the Interactive Questions.

2

In the Branding & Audience tab (Right Column), configure how the Q&A appears on participant devices.

3

Enable moderation if you want to vet questions before they are shared with the entire room.

Advanced Features

🛡️ Moderation Mode

Turn on moderation to review every incoming question. You can "Approve" questions to show them to everyone or "Dismiss" irrelevant ones.

👍 Upvoting

Allow participants to "Like" questions asked by others. The most popular questions will automatically move to the top of the presenter view.

👤 Anonymous Asking

Enable anonymous questions to encourage honest, tough inquiries that participants might otherwise be too shy to ask in person.

Pro Tips for Productive Dialogue

  • Always Moderating: Even in friendly sessions, having a moderator helps group similar questions together to save time.
  • Show on Demand: You don't have to be on a Q&A slide to see questions. EngageSlide allows you to pull up the Q&A overlay at any time during your talk.
  • Acknowledge the Source: If it's not anonymous, mention the name of the person asking the question to build rapport.
  • Export for Follow-up: If you run out of time, you can export all questions after the session to answer them in a follow-up email.

Conversation is the soul of presentation.
